Rotary District 3011

The Rotary Club of Delhi Garden City is one of 80 Rotary Clubs in R.I. District 3011 comprising of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and the revenue districts of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Rewari.

The first club in this region, the Rotary Club of Delhi, was started in 1938 and received its charter on January 18, 1938. By 1970, seven more new clubs had been formed in the region. The 1970's saw significant growth, and by July 1, 1984, there were 39 clubs in the district. District 3011 was created by splitting it off from District 3010 which saw the number of clubs grow to over 140.

From the beginning, the District has been very active in fulfilling the objectives of Rotary International, committed to the ideal of community service. Apart from the various activities initiated at the District level have made a significant impact in the community services avenue. Some of the major District projects & community services initiative undertaken by Clubs in the District are:

      • BR Ambedkar Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital

      • Rotary Blood Bank

      • Rotary Eye Care Center

      • Rotary Diabetes Center

      • Rotary Public School at Gurgaon

      • Rotary Viklang Kendra

      • Bindapur Integrated Community Development Project(BICODEP)

District 3011 pioneered the Pulse Polio Programme in India and has also made substantial contributions to the Rotary Foundation.
