- Open for Economically Weaker Section students (boys and girls) for Sewing & Tailoring 3 and 6 months Singer Diplomas at
This project, started in our Silver Jubilee year, caters to the women in the economically weaker section of society located in Indira Camp, (consisting of 3,000-odd slums) behind Ansal Plaza. This is a Skill Development Centre for teaching sewing, is run in association with Singer (India) & A Giggles Welfare Organisation (AGWO).
To maintain sincerity between the students a nominal fee of Rs. 100 per month and examination of Rs 200/- to be charged from the students. RCDGC ensured to refund of any fees paid by the students including the examination fees at the time of successful completion of training and awarding of the certificates.
We also arranged for some exporters and fabricators to visit the centre and give some tailoring work to these ladies to enable them to earn their livelihood.
In 2018-19, we started 2nd centre at Noida. Rtn. Rajni Sood generously donated Rs. 51,000/- to purchase the sewing machines for the new centre. Our sincerest thanks to all the friends of Rtn. Rajni Sood for their interest and generosity in this centre, Mrs. Kusum Chadha for the use of her space and the others for providing a water cooler and pedestal fans.
In 2020-21, we started 3rd centre at refugee colony at Majlis Park. This vocational Centre will be a great success for the poor refugee ladies and their children to able them to work and sustain themselves. Thanks to our Rtn. Ashok Sharma ji who very kindly donated 50% of the amount for the 20 sewing machines, also thanks to Rtn. Rajni Sood ji for donating fabrics, Rtn. Meena Sethi ji for donating cutting materials & accessories. Rtn. Manorma Gogia ji for donating 2 steel cupboard & Rtn. Sundeep Khanna ji for timely arranging all this with Singer.
