The Rotary Club of Delhi Garden City will be partnering with the Maaya Foundation to support Cleft Lib surgeries for 46 children at the Prakash Hospital in Noida in 2012-13.
The Maaya Foundation focuses its efforts at treating underprivileged children born with facial deformities like cleft lip and cleft-palate. Over the past four and half years, it has grown into an indigenous body, which runs eleven state-of-the-art cleft centers across the country at Agra, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Coorg,Mumbai, Noida, Patna, Srinagar, Surat and Viskhapatnam. Each of these centers is equipped with a highly trained team to provide surgical treatment and follow-up therapy all round the year.
Apart from having improved the lives of more than 7,500 children by giving them a normal face, the foundation boasts of having trained over 40 surgeons free of cost both from India and abroad. A strong pan-India presence and a network of partners across the globe, including Germany, Switzerland, Peru, Vietnam, Bangladesh and so on has been useful in the exchange of knowledge and surgical knowhow. In addition to free surgery, the Maaya Foundation provides free stay, food and transport to all needy patients who would otherwise never have been able to smile
