The Rotary Club of Delhi Garden City, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Las Vegas Spring Mountain, has received approval from Rotary International for a Global Grant to treat pediatric cancers in New Delhi, India. The Global Grant envisages treatment of 40 children between the ages of 1 to 18 who suffer from cancers like Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), Acute Myelocytic Leukemia (AML) and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphona. Under this Global Grant, these children from poor sections of society will receive free cancer chemotherapy treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. The treatments will give these children a second chance at life.
With support of the Cancer Patients Aids Association (CPAA), the Rotary Club of Delhi Garden City will conduct cancer screening camps at villages in and around New Delhi. These camps, also covered under this Global Grant, will educate the local community on prevention and early signs of cancer.
This Global Grant for Pediatric Cancer will start from July 2018.
